About Speaker

Binh-Son Hua is currently a research scientist at VinAI Research, Vietnam. He is also an affiliated assistant professor at VinUniversity. His research interests are in computer graphics and computer vision with the focus on 3D deep learning and physically based image synthesis. He received his PhD in Computer Science from National University of Singapore in 2015, and spent his postdoctoral research at Singapore University of Technology and Design and The University of Tokyo.

Abstract

Neural rendering is a rapidly emerging research that combines deep generative models and traditional computer graphics to synthesize realistic and controllable imagery. In this talk, we will explore the recent trends and applications in neural rendering. We will first start with an overview of computer graphics and machine learning, and then discuss key aspects in neural rendering including some important applications such as neural scene representations, neural re-rendering, semantic image synthesis and manipulation.
